Well, last week a few coworkers and I decided to compete in a …
… challenge. We met and everyone weighed in on the 4th and paid $25.00. We’re going until December 19th…the last day before our Xmas break. Whoever loses the most “perecentage” of their weight by that time…gets the whole pot of $$$.
So, for the next six weeks I’ll keep you updated on my progress and if I win.
I’m doing good so far. I weighed in yesterday and I lost 5.8 pounds. I refuse to tell you what I started out weighing…that’s none of your beeswax…
…but for the first week, I did pretty good if I do say so myself.
Weight issues have been a problem for me since I had kids. I go up and down and all around. I’ve lost weight before, 34 pounds the last time, but I gained some of it back. Hopefully, this time, I can keep it off. I’m just one of those people who can manage to eat the right things, drink a lot of water and exercise…for so long. After a while I tend to get tired of not eating what I want to eat and instead of eating the recommended portions sizes for one person…I’ll eat it for several people. That’s what I have to practice, and to keep exercising, even after the challenge is over.
So, we’ll see. Wish me luck.

Oh! I’m so right with you on this one! I’ve lost 40lbs in the last 15 months. But I think I’ve gained 5 back in the last three weeks! LOL. I’m starting tomorrow (kid’s birthday is over!) I’ll check back with you and see how you’re doing!
Oh…that’s so awesome. And you’re totally doing it the right way…losing it over time. That’s what I want to do too. I did so good that first week…but this week…bleck…I hope I didn’t gain. I’d hate to have to pay out that $1 for every pound you GAIN! ![]()
Lyric,
I know exactly what you mean. I’ve always been a bit overweight…sometimes more, sometimes less. After my second child was born, the weight just STUCK. I lost it all with dieting, gained it all back over the last five years. And now kind of yo-yo around.
My biggest problem is not the eating…I don’t think I go nuts or overindulge in some crazy way. BUT I do like to eat, and I don’t like to radically alter my eating habits. My problem is the exercising. If I just walked 3 or 4 times a week, I think I’d be fine. But I don’t.
So, I hope the last month has been good for your little competition. What a neat idea to motivate you to lose weight!
Thanks for commenting Kris. We have two more weigh-ins next week. Tuesday and then a final one on Friday before we go on Winter break. I DO NOT expect to win, but it has been fun and I did lose some weight which was the “main” goal. We’ve already decided to do 2 more rounds next year. LOL I guess I’m a glutton for punishment.
