Weight Watcher Wednesday

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Yes…I’m losing weight. And yes, I joined Weight Watchers. Actually, I joined over a month ago and I’ve already lost 12 pounds. I’ve been a member before…well…twice and lost weight, but I never stuck to it. I could never get past three months. I’d be going strong, exercising, eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and then WHAM! I would get sick and tired of not eating what I wanted to eat and down hill I would go and up up up on the scales. But now, I have no more excuses. The “I’m going to have another baby anyway so….” does not work any more since I had my baby…eight months ago. LOL

Also, the hubby and I are going to Jamaica this June and I refuse to put all this booty in a bathing suit and be embarrased about it. And add to that, I am now the heaviest I have ever been in my life and I refuse….REFUSE….to be this weight for the rest of it. So, I’m on it. My goal is 8-12 pounds of loss a month. I met it in December and I’m hoping to do the same in January. I attend meetings every Tuesday evening so on Wednesday’s I’ll keep you updated on my weekly weight loss progress.

If you care to join me in my weight loss mission, feel free to post how you’re doing, post a great recipe, or send me and others an encouraging word.

Just so you know, I WILL NOT share before and after pictures until it’s over. LOL But let’s just say, I have a long way to go.

W.I.P. Tuesday

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 | Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Today is my last day of Xmas vacation. Tomorrow, it’s back to school and dealing with the emotional ups and downs and attitudes of teenagers. Sounds fun, huh? LOL

Well, in case you haven’t figured it out, Tuesday’s will be dedicated to my work(s) in progress. I’m going to keep you updated on my progress, word count, and share little excerpts of my stories. I’m currently working on two WIPs at this time. One of them is the second in my Private Jane series which I’ve tentatively titled Under His Cover, which tells Jade’s story who you briefly met in Vindication. Here’s my blurb….

P.I. Jade Conner is going under cover to protect Lt. Governor Jared Carrington whose been receiving death threats. It doesn’t matter to her one way or the other that he’s single, sexy, rich, and the most eligible bachelor in Tennessee. She refuses to let it interfere with the job she’s been hired to do. Jared can’t help but be taken with the lovely Jade, especially since she’s trying so hard not to be attracted to him. Jared has a has a hard time convincing Jade that he’s not the player the media portrays him to be, especially when all he wants to do is get Jade under his covers.

My plan is for this to be a novella, about 20-25,000 words. And of course, submit it to Cobblestone Press. So, wish me luck.

Mystery Monday!

Monday, January 1st, 2007 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Happy New Year!!!!!

As some of you know, I fell completely in love and over heels with cozy mystery’s this year. I don’t know exactly what it is, but there’s just something about unraveling a unique and twisting puzzle and figuring out who-done-it that appeals to me, but it does. So, I’ve decided to dedicate Monday’s to “Cozy Mystery’s.”

The first book(s) I’ll share with you are the Wine Lover’s Mystery’s by Michele Scott. I was first introduced to this author through a Romance Diva’s workshop this past summer. The first book in the series is Murder Uncorked and it introduces amateur sleuth, Nikki Sands. Here’s the back cover blurb

Nikki Sands was like every other aspiring actress – waiting tables between jobs. But Nikki had taken serving wines to heart. She knew enough to impress Napa Valley’s golden boy, Derek Malveaux, who offered her a job at his vineyard. And though Nikki may have left her dreams of stardom behind, the world of wine is ripe with intrigue – and the seeds of sleuthing are planted…

Nikki has just set foot on Napa Valley’s rich soil when she realizes her new job may not be as safe as she thought. First off, Derek Malveaux is disconcertingly sexy. Second, his top winemaker is dead in the bushes outside Nikki’s cottage. It doesn’t take a connoisseur of foul play to know something’s taken a terrible turn….

Doesn’t that sound like a fabulous read? And believe me, it is. I could barely put this book down when I read it this summer. It’s full of recipes and wine pairings, stuff I had no clue about, but was interesting to read about. The book itself gives you the romance you’re looking for, and the twists and turns I love to figure out who killed the winemaker.

So, if you like a good mystery, check it out. The second book in the series is called Murder by the Glass, and the third in the series, Silenced by Syrah will be out in March. I personally, can’t wait to pick it up. You can visit her website here to read more about her and her books.

Loved...loved...loved. Now...since she's finally dealt with the demons of both her parents...if she'd only get pregnant!!! I would really love to see how she combines being the bad-a@@-cop she is with motherhood.

This was my first Patricia Cornwell novel and I really enjoyed. Her relationship with her niece was great. Great story and plot. Can't wait to read the next one.

So awesome to be in Percy's head again! Once again Rick Riordan took me away to the awesome world of Roman/Greek mythology via his demigods. Instead of Camp this book we visit the counterpart Roman camp, Camp Jupiter. In t...
