I’ve been thinking about ordering some bookmarks, magnets, and other stuff. But I was wondering what you’d actually like to have and WOULD you actually use them? Do you like receiving things like this from authors? Let me know what you think.

If you’re an author, what kind of stuff have you ordered and where did you get it from?

I LOVE collecting items from authors’ such as note pads, pens, rulers, book thongs, key chains, etc.
I definitely use these items. Things I’ve also gotten are tea bags or hot chocolate bags with the author’s label on it which is kind of neat(advertising the latest book).

I prefer book downloads, fast and quick and saves on the cost of mailing.

I use the knicknacks but my choice would be ebooks because I love to read.

I love getting gift certificates for epublishers.

I go for book thongs and pens. The rest of the stuff I don’t use so I don’t enter or request for them.

My top choice is epublisher’s certificates, downloads and the like. Pens are always good (a consumable item, though I need ones with fat/ergonomic bottoms for my arthritic hands), and MAYBE notepads (depending on if your home needs to be G or PG rated and what would be printed on them). I buy magnets that I like and have too many already. Bookmarks I get a half dozen every time I go to Borders, friends make laminated ones for me because they know I read alot (though you don’t NEED a physical bookmark with ebooks), so magnets and bookmarks would be low on my list. Key chains I have too many, but mugs or candy/food items that could have a tag/label with latest release/website info would be okay, too.

I like books, of course! I also love magnets (I actually do use them) and pencils/pens. And seeing the author’s name on those things often serves as a reminder to check their website for new releases :)
